Where to go in Santiago, Chile
« on: December 17, 2007, 10:37:19 PM »

Although most travellers just use Santiago as a stop while on the way to the 'four seasons of Chile'. They fly into Santiago and then as soon as possible take off again for cruises, treks, glaciers, skiing... However its a city that is well worth a visit

Try:

1. Teleferico - this is an aerial tram that takes you up through the tree tops of San Cristobal Hill, the hightest point of the city. A huge white statue of the Madonna sits atop the park

2. A popular dining area is Bellavista, a few metro stops from the centre of town. Another inner barrio Providencia, bustles with upmarket restaurants and shops.

3. Check out the Presential Palace and the regal Santiago Cathedral, with its Spanish base, French midriff and Italian towers.
